Youth @ Crossroads seeks to reduce high risk behaviors in youth ages 13 – 18 by promoting positive decision-making and personal responsibility through education, community service, and ongoing year-round activities.
Youth @ Crossroads offers three “levels” of education for youth:
Level 1: “Reconnecting Youth”, a semester-long class taught in local high schools to referred youth. Curriculum designed to prevent school dropout & increase school performance & emotional stability.
Level 2: “Project Toward No Drug Abuse”, seven two-hour classes and 12 hours group community service taught to youth arrested for a first-time “Minor’s in Possession” or related charge. Curriculum designed to prevent or reduce alcohol, tobacco & drug use and other high risk behaviors.
Level 3: “Moral Reconation Therapy”, 13-step individualized cognitive-behavioral program plus 20 hours individual community service taught to youth who have re-offended or have a "more serious" first time offense. Curriculum designed to help youth confront and change high risk behaviors.
Weekly Activities: Youth @ Crossroads offers year-round weekly activities for participants and graduates, to engage youth in healthy alternatives to drug and alcohol use, connect them with positive adults and reinforce lessons learned through class.
